A special Studio Tour is available to view and purchase the creations of the artists while the Saturday Market displays a great cross-section of the high-quality arts & crafts artisans living and working on the island.
With a wide variety of activities on the island, there is something for everyone. Come for the world-class kayaking, sailing, fishing, diving, cycling, golfing, camping and beachcombing. Hike the outstanding trails of Ruckle Provincial Park, home to the Gulf Island’s largest provincial campground, and enjoy spectacular vistas in every direction at Mount Maxwell.
The island has a well-established agricultural community with over 225 farms and is well-known for the local sheep farming. Be sure to visit Ganges for the Famous Saturday Market offered from April to October, and the Tuesday Farmers Market offered from June to October, where many of the local farmers and growers offer produce from their organic crops. Or purchase fresh produce from roadside stands. Visit one of the vineyards or cheese farms, or visit in the autumn to partake in the famous Fall Fair and Apple Festival. As well, quality restaurants are situated all over the island with something for everyone.
